The travel restrictions are part of an effort to keep the country safe following the devastating storm that hit Texas last week.
The storm caused widespread power outages, and more than 1,500 people died in the region.
A number of Texas state offices have been closed as a precaution.
Greg Abbott said on Monday the state will “not reopen” until the federal government releases its list of the “deadliest pandemic” threats and states have more information about the threats.
Some of the states on the list are still on the federal list of threats.
However, the federal designation does not include some states, such as Texas, which are on the state list of potential threats.
