‘Dude’ from Texas airport accused of kidnapping wife and child to force them to stay

A man has been arrested after he allegedly kidnapped his wife and two children to force their parents to stay in Texas, authorities said Wednesday.

Authorities say 20-year-old James Patrick McDaniel, of Dallas, forced his wife to live with him in a hotel room and forced her to have sex with him.

He then took her to a house where they locked her up, authorities say.

McDaniel was arrested Tuesday.

Authorities say McDaniel’s parents and brother also were abducted.

McDaniel is charged with two counts of kidnapping, one count of aggravated kidnapping, and two counts each of aggravated battery and aggravated battery by strangulation.

He also is charged in connection with an armed robbery and aggravated robbery, authorities in Houston said.

McDaniels sister told ABC affiliate KPRC-TV she was “very scared” when she heard the news.

“I don’t know how to describe it.

I’m very, very scared,” she said.ABC News’ Jennifer Ludden contributed to this report.
