D.C. — A dog crate found outside of the U.S. Capitol building is likely a case of theft, according to police.
Police said Thursday they were investigating the crate as a potential case of burglary.
According to the police report, officers responding to the scene of the burglary discovered a dog crate outside of a building in the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
When officers entered the area, they found the crate in a trash bag and discovered the person who had taken the crate had been arrested.
No further information is available.
The owner of the dog crate is believed to have left the dog inside the building, according the police.
